City in Monochrome
Sitting comfortably in the aluminum and zinc bird at 10,000 meters above sea level, I fly over the world. Above the Scandinavian primary forests, the Gobi desert, the green plains of Mongolia or even the mountainous lands of China, the cities stand out in halos of light in the black night of the time zones. These places that we now call metropolises, megalopolises are teeming with life. Real areas of increase, everything is here tenfold. Through the veins and arteries of these great boulevards, in the heart of cities, I like to capture and slow down time thanks to my photographic camera. I freeze the organic movement.
The cacophony disappears and softness and harmony appear.
For total and complete immersion, I offer you some musical titles to capture the atmosphere of this walk:
Amy Winehouse - He Can Only Hold Her Marvin Gaye - What's Going On Live 1972
In the middle of these streets, the human tide follows my contours and I remain as a rock, anchored in the tumult.
By slowing down the movement, I then observe a new world.
The buildings become works of art and the strangers on the sidewalks become humans with complex feelings.
By slowing down the movement, I then observe a new world.
